Suggester is a powerful tool designed for songwriters and musicians to craft high-quality chord progressions. This app facilitates the seamless exploration and creation of captivating musical phrases that evoke emotions through well-structured tension and release.

One of its notable features is the ability to select chords based on their harmonic function, making extensive use of the roman numeral notation. By simply touching a chord, users can audibly evaluate its sound. Pressing the play button allows for sequential playback of the chord progression, with adjustable speed, maximizing creativity and control.

When using Suggester, users can work in either a forward or backward manner. In the forward approach, users can select a scale and build their song based on suggested chords that are greatly compatible. This streamlines the process of assembling harmonious chords. Conversely, in the backward approach, users can choose a set of chords they prefer from the catalog. In response, the app provides information on which scales these chords harmonize with. Once a desired scale is selected, Suggester assists in identifying additional chords that blend well with the initially chosen ones. This feature proves to be extremely helpful in jam sessions, supplementing the user's improvisation skills.

The app offers an extensive catalog of chords and scales for users to choose from, ensuring they have access to a wide array of musical possibilities. Moreover, Suggester allows advanced users to create custom scales and chords, fostering even greater creativity and innovation.

To add depth and complexity to compositions, this tool enables users to borrow chords from parallel scales and explore new territories through modulation. Additionally, browsing classic chord progressions within the app serves as an excellent source of inspiration for those seeking new creative directions.

Suggester supports convenient drag and drop functionality for users to reorder chords effortlessly. On iPad devices, chords can be dragged directly from suggestions to any position within the progression. Furthermore, users can modify the duration of chords by tapping the note button on the left. Deleting chords is as simple as swiping them from right to left.

The app offers versatile export options, allowing users to save their songs as audio, MIDI, or text. Furthermore, Suggester's integration with MIDI technology ensures that all sounds generated within the app can be routed to other MIDI-compatible apps, external MIDI ports, or even remotely to other computers via a MIDI Network Session.

For musicians who utilize MIDI input, Suggester allows chords to be triggered through this feature.

Suggester also supports drag and drop functionality between apps. If both ChordPadX and Suggester are installed on the device, they can communicate seamlessly through drag and drop. Additionally, chords and pads can be easily dragged into other MIDI-enabled apps that support this functionality.

Syncing tempo with other apps is made effortless with the integration of Ableton Link into Suggester.

In terms of notation preference, users can choose between English notation (C, D, E) and fixed-do notation (do, re, mi).

Please note that while some features are locked in the free version of the app, unlocking the full capabilities can be achieved by purchasing either the Full Unlock or a Feature Pack. It's important to note that this purchase only needs to be made once and will apply to all iOS devices. Restoring purchases on a different device can be done by selecting "Restore Purchases" in the Options menu. Lastly, it's worth noting that Suggester for macOS is sold separately.

In terms of instruments, Suggester offers a collection that includes Piano, Electric Piano, Vintage Electric Piano, Organ, Strings, and Guitar.
